Kerajaan bukan sahaja memberi bantuan kepada orang dewasa, tetapi juga kepada kanak-kanak melalui Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat dalam skim bantuan khas.
Ini dilakukan untuk membantu dan memelihara institusi keluarga, agar anak-anak diberikan kasih sayang dan penjagaan yang ikhlas.

OBJEKTIF SKIM BANTUAN KANAK-KANAK
Bantuan kanak-kanak dibuat bertujuan untuk:
Membantu keluarga/penjaga kanak-kanak/kanak-kanak atau membantu kanak-kanak/kanak-kanak yang tiada/kehilangan penjaga supaya mereka dapat terus hidup bersama keluarga dan terus bertahan tanpa menjejaskan tumbesaran dan perkembangan kanak-kanak mengikut peringkat mereka.
Bantu memelihara dan mengukuhkan institusi keluarga yang menyediakan penjagaan yang sangat baik kepada kanak-kanak, termasuk kasih sayang dan perhatian.
SYARAT KELAYAKAN BANTUAN KANAK-KANAK
Skim Bantuan Kanak-Kanak adalah terhad kepada individu yang memenuhi syarat kelayakan berikut:
- Warganegara dan penduduk Malaysia
- Keluarga/penjaga yang menjaga kanak-kanak yang pendapatan isi rumahnya tidak melebihi ambang kemiskinan purata isi rumah (PGK) semasa atau purata ambang kemiskinan per kapita semasa
- Kanak-kanak di bawah 18 dan orang yang berumur lebih dari 18 boleh dipertimbangkan jika mereka bersekolah sehingga tamat pendidikan menengah atas
- Pelaksanaan kebajikan masyarakat adalah mengikut Senarai Serentak antara Kerajaan Persekutuan dan Kerajaan Negeri yang terkandung dalam peruntukan Perlembagaan Persekutuan Malaysia di bawah Jadual 3 – Jadual Kesembilan Senarai Perundangan.
KADAR BANTUAN
Minimum RM150 sebulan setiap orang kepada maksimum RM1,000 sebulan seperti berikut:
- RM200 seorang untuk kanak-kanak berumur 6 tahun ke bawah;
- RM150 seorang untuk kanak-kanak berumur 7 hingga 18 tahun; DAN
- Kadar bantuan maksimum ialah RM1,000 setiap keluarga sebulan.
CARA MEMOHON BANTUAN KANAK-KANAK
Ikuti arahan untuk bantuan kanak-kanak di portal rasmi JKM seperti berikut:
- Sila layari Portal Rasmi Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM); atau klik pautan di sini:
https://www.jkm.gov.my/jkm/?r=portal/index - Pada halaman utama JKM, klik [eBantuanJKM.
- Anda akan dipindahkan ke bahagian Sistem Pengurusan Bantuan Sosial.
- Klik [Semak status permohonan dalam talian].
- Masukkan nombor kad pengenalan pemohon pada ruang yang disediakan tanpa (-), contohnya: 86XXXXXXXXXXXX.
- Klik butang [Semak].
- Status pemohon akan dipaparkan.
- Selesai.
